Easter 2010 and Development

We hope that you all had a wonderful Easter. Ours was great other than we missed Jenny's parents - all 3 were out of town. We experienced our first egg hunt at Lake Arbor with Steph, Dustin and Beau on Saturday. The kiddos plucked eggs out of a baseball diamond and then went through line to turn in their eggs and collect their prizes - a toy, piece of candy and a cookie. Both Capriana and Beau seemed to really like the concept of picking up eggs and putting them in the basket. Hopefully the wind is more calm next time.

Capriana made it through 99% of Easter Mass; a personal best for her. That made my Easter! Then we went to Auntie Anna and Uncle Robby's clubhouse to see the Pergola family and hang out with Auntie Kait. Afterward, we went to Linda's house and Capriana had a "hunt" for some food to go in her little person kitchen and had a blast.

Capriana seems to be a tom-boy and princess. We are enjoying both of these traits. She loves to climb and crawl into small places and be adventuresome. Last week, she ended up with bruises on her legs, a scraped shin, a bruise under her eye from going down a slide too fast and a little gouge under her eye from an unmentioned Auntie trying to catch her from falling off a chair she wasn't supposed to be standing on. On the princess end, Capriana loves to strut her stuff when she has on a new outfit. She seriously walks and twirls as if she were a model...too cute but a bit scary!

We have a few more words to add to the vocab. We watched Jenny's dad and stepmom's dog for a few days and her nickname is Boo Boo. Capriana had a great time calling out to Boo Boo and "D" (her nickname for Wendy). She also can say fish - as in goldfish, her new favorite food. Lately, Capriana has taken to coming downstairs in the morning, going to the pantry and saying "fish, fish, fish" while making a little fish swimming motion with her hands. It is adorable, albeit frustrating that fish are all she wants for breakfast. We're on a fish hiatus for now. Capriana also has FINALLY mastered the sign for "all done" with respect to eating. Tony, Gina and Jenny are relieved as her previous method of communicating she was finished was to throw all of the reamaining food from her tray onto the floor.

Be well!
